At PERSEO, we develop advanced technological solutions with our own technology to transform organic waste into products with high added value. Each of our processes is designed to maximise the use of resources and contribute to a cleaner and more profitable industrial model.
PERSEO Bioethanol® process
PERSEO Bioethanol® biotechnology enables the recovery of organic waste to produce advanced bioethanol and other by-products. Thanks to our proprietary technology, we transform agro-industrial, cellulosic and urban waste into sustainable bioethanol, biogas for bioenergy, bioethylene, bioplastics, animal feed and compost, among other value-added products.
The bioethanol obtained through this process has multiple applications: it can be used as an advanced biofuel to reduce emissions in transport, or as a chemical building block (CBB), an essential raw material in the production of other chemical compounds with high added value.
This PERSEO Bioethanol® process is compatible with existing waste treatment plants, falling under the concept of an integrated biorefinery. In this way, we offer a cost-effective, sustainable and customised solution for each client.

PERSEO Hydrol® process
PERSEO Hydrol® technology focuses on the pre-treatment and subsequent saccharification of organic waste to obtain fermentable sugars, which can be used to produce bioethanol or converted into other bioproducts, according to the customer's needs.
The Hydrol® process includes an efficient initial treatment that releases sugars from organic materials in a sustainable way, which can be used to obtain different bioproducts such as organic acids (lactic acid, succinic acid, acetic acid), bioplastics (such as PHA or PLA), butanol, isopropanol, acetone, biopolymers and other biochemical compounds with high added value. Furthermore, the vinasse obtained in the process can be converted into biogas, biofertilisers or animal feed, in the same way as in the PERSEO Bioethanol® Process.

PERSEO Bioethylene process
PERSEO Bioethylene technology is designed for the conversion of advanced bioethanol into bioethylene by catalytic dehydration. Bioethylene is mainly used in the production of biopolymers, such as biopolyethylene, biopetrolyl and biopvc, and other green chemicals. This technology has been developed and demonstrated in a pilot plant in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The result of this collaboration was a joint patent (P202230695) marking significant technical advances in this field.
