PERSEO Biotechnology S.L. hosted the CATCO2NVERS General Meeting M36 in Valencia on May 7th and 8th, 2024. During this event, we had the opportunity to present and discuss the results obtained over the last 6 months, showcasing our progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Bio-Based Industries (BBI) through five innovative technologies.
These technologies utilize electrochemical, enzymatic, and thermochemical processes to convert hashtag#CO2 into high-value chemicals: glyoxylic acid (GA), lactic acid (LA), furan dicarboxylic methyl ester (FDME), cyclic carbonated fatty acid methyl esters (CCFAMEs), and bio-methanol. These chemicals find applications in various industries, including chemical, cosmetics, and plastics, replacing fossil materials with a zero or negative greenhouse gas emissions
The main role of PERSEO Biotechnology S.L. is to capture and provide the biogenic CO2 generated in its advanced alcoholic fermentation process in order to valorise this gas in its facilities into different chemicals through the catalytic technologies developed by partners.
In addition to the meetings and presentations, our partners had the chance to experience firsthand the facilities of PERSEO Biotechnology S.L. located in L’Alcudia (Valencia). During the visit, our partners received a talk from the CEO, Caterina Coll Lozano, where they gained insights into PERSEO’s business model, its value proposition, and the ongoing projects overview. Moreover, accompanied by PERSEO’s Innovation Manager, Marcos Latorre Sánchez, they explored the laboratories and demonstration pilot plant, where scaling tests are conducted, and engineering projects are developed.
The meeting provided a platform to present research findings and real-world applications, highlighting our commitment to sustainability and innovation.
